Huranbi Cottage Hospital,

We are excited to share the latest progress on the Huranbi Cottage Hospital Building Project, a transformative initiative by OmegaGlocal Mission Centre in partnership with Agape Missions aimed at providing accessible and affordable healthcare to the underserved rural community of Huranbi in Dobi district, Gwagwalada Area Council, FCT.

Project Vision

The Huranbi Cottage Hospital is more than just a medical facility—it is a beacon of hope for over 1,000 residents across 100 households in the region. With no prior access to primary healthcare within close range, this project is designed to:

  • Deliver essential medical services.
  • Reduce mortality, especially among children, pregnant women, and the elderly.
  • Serve as a platform for holistic, gospel-centered community transformation.

Construction Progress

As of May 2025, the project has made significant headway:

  • Site Development: The land (measuring 8,133.50 square meters) has been fully secured with community support.
  • Foundation Milestones:
    • Setting out, foundation excavation, and blinding have been completed.
    • Foundation blocks laid and column footings cast up to the Damp Proof Course (DPC) level.
  • Structural Work:
    • Hardcore filling and compaction completed.
    • Framing and casting of the German floor slab (oversite concrete) successfully done.
    • Plumbing groundwork, including installation of pipes for water closets, hand basins, and drainage, is in place.

 

Thanks to generous contributions and active community involvement—especially in the packing and laying of construction materials—the project has progressed efficiently and economically.

Next Steps

The next construction phases will focus on:

  • Wall raising and roofing
  • Installation of doors, windows, and electrical systems
  • Interior finishes, equipment installation, and staff setup
